Is ELOPING a dirty word?
In years gone by, I'd say there'd be a lot of couples out there who would have said "my mum would kill us if we eloped" or "but my family would be so disappointed if they weren't invited". OKAY but hear me out! Let's start with the basics:
- Technically, to elope literally means to "run away secretly and get married"... BUT I think the wedding industry as a whole is really moving away from this. An elopement doesn't have to be done hastily, or without your family... in secret.
- Eloping has gained huge interest in previous years (thanks covid!) and it's becoming more and more common to have a small wedding - whether that means you only invite your mum and dad. Or it could me it's just you two, the photographer (aka me) and the celebrant... and maybe a witness or two. Two days later you have a huuuuuge party with all your nearest and dearest???
- You don't have to have that big 150 person wedding that someone has to fork the bill for... thanks ?dad? You can get married at the registry office in Brisbane (beautiful by the way!) and go eat burgers and have a few beers with all your besties and still love every minute??
- Enter Rosy and Alex - stage RIGHT - let me tell you, you can have your cake AND eat it too

Rosy and Alex's Brisbane CBD registry elopement
Rosy emailed me and said "we're getting married in two months can you take some pics - two hours coverage, we're getting married at the registry in Brisbane and getting burgers and beers after."
I mean - sounds like a blast!
Rosy and Alex have been together a pretty long time - their wedding date was their 9th anniversary, cute!! They have such a beautiful connection and their actions speak a lot louder than words ever could. It was an absolute pleasure to capture these photos for them. City elopements are pretty rad, rooftops are pretty cool too! Enjoy some photos. Let's chat soon.
